My Art Experience
I have been an "artist" at heart since I was a little girl. I have actually called myself an "artist" much more recently; around 1990 when I began to study portrait painting. Even though I had attended college for Art, I did not feel very good about my art and felt I had not learned enough to call myself an artist.
When I studied portrait painting after my two daughters were nearly grown, I began to understand the concept of "The Art Process" and realized that is where I had previously failed to grow. So that means I have been an actual "ARTIST" for nearly 30 years now.
I hope I haven't bored you with all this and I hope you will follow me on my blog as I share all the wonderful, beautiful knowledge I have gleaned along the path to my Art Today!!
My background - started out in Acrylic Painting in the late 70's, progressed to Oil Painting in the 90's and added in Pastel Portraits from 1990 to 2001. In 2001 I opened my first Art Studio and Gallery outside my home. I focused mainly on painting and teaching. Then, I opened a larger workshop and studio with a partner in 2003. My third studio, classroom and Gallery opened in 2006 and when my seventh grandchild arrived, I retired (for awhile).
I am now retiring again. This time, from my 4th Art Studio and Gallery and with the hopes of having more time to paint and create. This will give me time to share, with a wider audience, all the amazing things I have learned about the Art Process in the past 40 plus years.
Check out my blog and let me know about you and your art journey.
